Now the back-strap and the grip can be removed. To remove a one-piece grip you will need to remove the two screws on either side of the hammer and the one at the bottom of the grip-frame. Some shooters will switch to plastic grips when it is raining.
For ease of maintenance a two-piece grip will come off the gun faster. If you clean your guns frequently and you don’t want to get oils and solvents on your grips, you should remove them or protect them.
